  • Wingman Resources for Suicide Prevention

    As suicide remains the leading cause of death for Airmen, Air Force Chief of Staff, Gen. David L. Goldfein, is urging all Airmen to help prevent suicide among our wingmen. “Suicide prevention is really about a culture shift. Culture is our collective beliefs, actions and values; the things each of us say and do contribute to our Air Force culture. We need an Air Force culture where it is more common to seek help than to try to go at it alone,” Goldfein said in a memo to Airmen.
  • 2019 Tax Season Tips and Updates

    Tax season is in full swing and there are plenty of changes newly in effect this year which Service members and their families need to be aware of. The Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017 along with the 2018 Veterans Benefits and Transition Act bring several large benefits but also eliminate some deductions that previously were available to Service members. The DoD is continuing to sponsor its popular MilTax program to help Service members navigate their filings and ensure their taxes are filed timely and accurately.

    U.S. Congressman Richard Neal and 439th Airlift Wing Commander Brig. Gen. D. Scott Durham held a news conference on base January 31 to announce $42.6 million in funding for a new C-5 maintenance hangar.
  • Black History month program to be held on Feb. UTA

    Westover Air Reserve Base will hold its annual Black History program on Sun. Feb. 10, at 1:30 p.m. in the 439th Airlift Wing Building 1850, Civilian Personnel Training Room. There will be an introduction and historical information on the meaning behind the month long recognition of the contributions of African Americans to our country.
