SrA. Greg Gill

“I enlisted when I was 18,” SrA. Gill said. “My grandfather was a loadmaster on the 141 Starlifter and wanted to follow in his footsteps.” When Gill left active duty and moved back home to Connecticut, he began hunting for a full time position at Westover. “I didn’t want to be completely out of the military,” Gill said. “I came onboard as a full time ART last August.” Jumping from the KC-135 to working on C-5s, Airman Gill remarked that there really isn’t much of a difference from a hydraulic point of view. “It’s a much larger aircraft so you expect more systems to have to keep up with and a lot more to work on hydraulically,” Gill said.

Passing the Jacket

Col. Vautrain passed on the title and jacket to a newly appointed honorary chairman, James Murren on April 11th. Murren wasn't able to attend so MGM President Bill Honrbuckle accepted on his behalf. Welcome Home

Westover Air Reserve Base, Mass., welcomed home a herd of Davis-Monthan Warthogs, April 8, 2013 from an overseas deployment. Welcome Home

Members of the 655th Regional Support Group, a Westover tenant unit, were officially welcomed home during a ceremony held in the Base Hangar, March 9. The 50 Soldiers returned home earlier this year from a nine month deployment to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. During the ceremony, each Soldier received a commemorative flag, a welcome home package and a coin from 655th RSG Command Sergeant Major Jeffrey Morse.
