Controlled Chaos
Pararescue Jumpers and Combat Rescue Officers, 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick AFB, FL, conduct search and rescue response after a simulated vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated March 10 and 11 in Perry, GA. This simulated exercise included two HH-60 Pave Hawk aircraft loading and off-loading rescuers as well as victims from the site of the explosion in Somalia. This four-day training exercise included simulated scenarios such as an earthquake, a vehicle-borne improved explosive device, active shooters and mass casualty response.
