Now that the weather is becoming warmer, Westover officials would like to remind drone, or Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS), operators that it is illegal to fly over the base.

Drone operation is legal below predetermined altitude outside of the base, but flying above the noted altitude still requires coordination with the Westover Air Traffic Control Tower.

Drone Operators can find out more information by going to the Recreational Drone Flyer Instructions: https://www.faa.gov/uas/recreational_fliers/.

Officials encourage operators to review local rules for the area they are flying in to avoid violations.
