A shining dedication for a shining Westover Airman

Family and friends were present at the dedication/ribbon cutting of the 35-acre solar plant named after the late Master Sgt. Alexander Cotton. He was part of the 439th Contingency Response Flight at Westover Air Reserve Base. Cotton was chosen because of his dedication to Westover, the Air Force, and his solar energy advocacy. Here his memory can shine down on the base. The solar field was built on the east side of the base in Ludlow, where munitions for the 99th Bomb Wing were stored before the 1980s. The area is today owned by Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Co. at the Stony Brook Energy Center.
