Transient A-10 aircraft and crew from the 442nd Fighter Wing, Whiteman Air Force Base, MO., stop at Westover Air Force Reserve Base, Mass., for routine maintenance checks and refueling before departing for a mission abroad, April 1, 2014. The A-10 Thunderbolt IIs are the first Air Force aircraft specially designed for close air support of ground forces.
