C-5 Galaxy

A C-5 Galaxy from the 349th Airlift Wing, Travis Air Force Base, Calif., approaches a KC-135 Stratotanker from the 939th Air Refueling Wing over the Pacific Ocean June 15, 2006. The C-5 has a wingspan of 220 feet and is almost 250 feet long and 65 feet tall making the aircraft almost twice as big as the KC-135's 130 foot wingspan, 136 foot length and 41 foot height. Separated only by the KC-135's refueling boom, crewmembers from both units practiced procedures used for midair refueling. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Maj. James R. Wilson)
