Making it official

John Doleva, President and CEO of the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass., signs a statement of support for the National Guard and Reserve Dec. 7, surrounded by members from each branch of service and officials from the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. ESGR, an agency within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve component members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. Employers may sign a statement of support, and reservists may recognize their employers with a "My Boss is a Patriot" award to show appreciation for support and cooperation with an employee's reserve status. More information is available at www.esgr.org.
