Planes Over Chicopee

Twenty fiberglass planes, each 7 feet 4 inches by 6 feet 4 inches, are being decorated by area artists from throughout Western Massachusetts. As planes are finished they are set out for display in various places around the city of Chicopee, Mass. Finished planes can be found at Chicopee Public Library on Front Street, Chicopee Savings Bank on Center Street and Lymtech Scientific on Westover Road. The planes are being auctioned off to raise money for a new Senior Center in Chicopee. Officials used the C-5 because of the history Chicopee has with Westover. Sponsors will keep the planes for six months and then designate a permanent location. (US Air Force photo/SrA Kelly Galloway)
