Hurricane Irene
Sixty-one trailers loaded with bottled water, generators, tarps, food, and other emergency supplies arrived at Westover Air Reserve Base Aug. 26 and 27 as Westover partnered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency in preparation for Hurricane Irene, which hit New England Sunday, Aug. 28. In addition, all but two of Westover Air Reserve Base’s C-5 aircraft were evacuated Aug. 26 - 27 to bases in Florida, Delaware and Ohio, in preparation for Hurricane Irene. (US Air Force photo/SrA.
