Arbor Day Dig
Col. Steven Vautrain, 439th Airlift Wing commander (second from left), and joint-service partners gather around a newly-planted red maple tree April 27 to commemorate Arbor Day at Westover Air Reserve Base. Westover has been named a "Tree City USA" for each of the past 15 years, according to Drew Milroy, base natural resources manager. Base civil engineers plant a single tree somewhere on base annually to honor Arbor Day and recognize efforts to support nationwide programs encouraging planting and maintenance of trees. This year's tree is located outside the Military Entrance and Processing Station. (US Air Force photo/W.C. Pope)
