Former Westover Commander is honored
As if on queue the skies opened up and Brig. Gen. Frederick "Mike" Walker's Reveille Ceremony received a final flight showering on the Westover Ellipse. As Chaplain Joseph Eggleston read the Airman's Prayer, the Westover Honor Guard lowered Old Glory to half staff. General Walker, who passed away late June, commanded the base from 1986 to 1992, which included the era in which the base mobilized for Operation Desert Storm. (U.S. Air Force photo by W.C. Pope)
