The Army & Air Force Exchange Service celebrated the grand opening of an upgraded Express and brand-new Subway restaurant at Westover Air Reserve Base on June 28.

Col. Jay D. Jensen, 439th Airlift Wing Commander, and Col. Karen Magnus, 439th Mission Support Group Commander, appeared for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the $1.8 million upgrade, the store’s first since opening its doors in 1996.

The Express, has received a complete interior renovation, including brand-new flooring, fixtures, signage and design elements. The Subway is the first-ever branded restaurant the Exchange has brought to Westover Air Reserve Base.

“We couldn’t be prouder to provide the Westover community with this rejuvenated, revitalized Express,” said Kathi Zeller, Exchange general manager. “We hope this combined shopping and dining experience adds value and convenience for the Airmen and Reservists who work so hard to protect American freedoms here at Westover.”

The Express and Subway are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on drill weekends. On non-drill weekends, the restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
