Shortly after the December drill weekend Citizen Airmen from the 337th Airlift Squadron delivered a fire truck and pallets of food to Honduras during a Denton humanitarian assistance mission.

The non-perishable food items were donated by Abundant Rain Ministries, Inc. of Coweta, OK.

Shortly after the mission was concluded, a spokesperson from the NGO said, “I want to thank everyone for providing this miracle. Toys are nice for Christmas but they do not satisfy the hunger of children.”

Launched in 1987 as the Denton Cargo Program, the U. S. government humanitarian program allows for space available on military aircraft to be used to carry humanitarian aid supplies to countries in need and for disaster relief.

The process allows for cargo to be donated by U.S.-based Non-Governmental Organizations to developing nations to ease human suffering.

The Patriot Wing’s innovative and empowered Airmen provide rapid global mobility in both contingency and humanitarian situations.
