WESTOVER AIR RESERVE BASE, Mass. -- Leadership Today and Tomorrow!
On Dec 22 Patriot Wing leaders traveled to Chicopee High School to visit with Air Force Junior ROTC cadets.
Colonel Joseph Janik, 439th Airlift Wing commander and Chief Master Sgt. Rosiline Ratliff, 439th Airlift Wing command chief talked to the cadets about their respective careers, role models and influencers, leadership positions they had each held, and answered myriad questions.
During the visit, both leaders stressed making smart choices, being flexible in face of challenges, and their service in the Reserve has increased their empowerment and proficiency.
The visit was the result of an invitation extended to the Citizen Airmen at a Veteran’s Day event last Nov. During that ceremony at nearby Doverbrook Estates, both Janik and Ratliff had ad hoc mentoring with many cadets, prompting the JROTC leadership to coordinate a follow visit at the school.
