WESTOVER AIR RESERVE BASE, Mass. -- On Jan.24 the first of six COVID-19 vaccination clinics was held at the Westover Club. A joint team of nurses, doctors, and medical technicians from the 439th Aerospace Medical Squadron, the 439th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, and the 439th Aeromedical Staging Squadron administered over 400 doses of the Moderna vaccination.
According to 1st Lt. Gregory M. Tayetto, COVID Vaccination Program coordinator, the 439th Airlift Wing is one of five Reserve units to receive initial shipments of the vaccine.
The next vaccination line will be for traditional Reservists and active Guard and Reserve members only and is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 7 at the base fitness center. The remaining clinics have yet to be scheduled.
