Tech. Sgt. Eberle, 58th APS wins award for heroism

Tech. Sgt. Stephen Eberle, 58th Aerial Port Squadron, was recently named a Carnegie Hero for saving a man from a burning vehicle in July 2017. He along with another individual happened upon this nighttime accident in Middletown, Conn. Working together they quickly broke a window, pried the door open and cut his jammed seat belt with a pocket knife, with flames only feet away. They then dragged him from the vehicle before it was engulfed in fire. The driver was treated for minor injuries from the initial crash.

Eberle is from Ivoryton, Conn. and is a power station electrician in civilian life.
