Patriot Wing members and their loved ones are invited to Family Day 2010 at Westover Air Reserve Base on September 11.

The family-fun event is scheduled to start at 12 noon and to end at 1700, or 5 p.m. for the non-military lingo savvy. The event will take place in the ellipse with plenty of space for children to run and play.

A variety of food will be available for free, including chicken, sausages, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, pasta salad, ice cream and soda; beer will be available for a nominal fee.

For the young at heart, or mostly the kids, there will be activities including bounce houses, hayrides, face painting, horse shoes, a flight simulator, a dunk booth, volleyball, model airplane demos, just to name a few...

In order to attend, Patriot Wing members need only inform their first sergeants of how many family members they will be bringing in order to make sure that there's plenty of food for everyone.

The day will begin with a ceremony in remembrance of those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.
