Command honors Westover medics Published Sept. 26, 2011 WESTOVER AIR RESRVE BASE, Mass. -- Westover took top awards at the 2011 Air Force Reserve Command Medical Award Selections. The 439th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron was cited for Outstanding Reserve Medical Quality Initiative and Air Force Medical Service Best Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron Patient Safety Program of the Year. While team efforts went into all awards, several Westover medical professionals were highlighted as examples of excellence: Capt. Susan McCormick, 439th AES, Flight Nurse of the Year; MSgt. Leonard Delorenzo, 439th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, Outstanding Reserve SNCO assigned to a Ground Medical Unit; TSgt. Kevin Preston, 439th AES, Outstanding Reserve NCO assigned to an Aeromedical Evacuation Unit; and SrA. Jonathan Ritter, 439th AES, Outstanding Aeromedical Evacuation Technician Airman of the Year.
