Planning is already well under way for the 2018 Great new England Air and Space Show, to be held July 14-15.

The Thunderbirds, the Air Force's official aerial demonstration team, will headline the event, which honors the Air Force Reserve's 70th anniversary. This will be the first time since September 2008 that the six F-16s have performed at Westover.

An air show kickoff breakfast is scheduled for July 13 in one of the base's maintenance hangars. A C-5M dedication ceremony is also planned, marking the conversion of the 439th Airlift Wing's fleet of C-5s to the latest upgraded model of the U.S. military's largest aircraft.

This year's show theme is "Wings of Heritage, Shaping The Future."

More information on the air show will be provided as soon as it becomes available, and by visiting www.greatnewenglandairshow.com
