ESGR supports reservists and employers

  • Published
Reservists lead busy lives outside their obligations to the military, and this includes their civilian occupations. The majority of the 2,100 Air Force reservists assigned to the 439th Airlift Wing are traditional reservists. They train one weekend per month and perform two weeks of annual tour training.

Besides these obligations, however, are periodic deployments, which typically consist of about six months of duty -- often thousands of miles from home. The Massachusetts Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve has specialists assigned to assist reservists with recognizing their civilian employers for their support and flexibility. One of these ways is through the Patriot Award.
