COLONEL AMY K. TULLIS
Col Amy Tullis is the Deputy Commander, 439th Airlift Wing, Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts. She assists the Wing Commander in leading over 2,900 military and civilian personnel in execution of the strategic airlift mission with a fleet of eight C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft, and provides agile combat support and aeromedical evacuation mission support to the combatant commands. Prior to being assigned to Westover she served as the Deputy Director of Air Operations and Strategic Planning at 4th AF, March Air Reserve Base, Calif.

Col Tullis was sworn into the Air Force Reserve at Dover Air Force Base in the 709th Airlift Squadron in September 2002 and attended Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base where she earned her commissioning in May 2003. She completed specialized undergraduate pilot training at Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma, where she flew both the T-37 “Tweet” and T-1 “Jayhawk” and was awarded the Academic Achievement award for class 2004-11.

She began her flying career with the C-5A/B with the 709th Airlift Squadron, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware from 2005–2009, during which time she was mobilized in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. She upgraded to C-5 aircraft commander and aerial refueling qualification in 2008, before transferring to the 68th Airlift Squadron, Lackland Air Force Base (formerly Kelly Air Force Base) in late 2009 to continue her progression to instructor and evaluator pilot in the C-5M. Col Tullis served the 433rd AW as the 68th Airlift Squadron Chief of training, the 433d Operations Group Chief of Training, and the 356th Airlift Squadron, the C-5M Formal Training Unit, Chief of Training prior to becoming the Commander.
