Westover's Women's History Month, Mar. 2020
MARCH 2020 - WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH Women's History Month honors and celebrates the struggles and achievements of American Women throughout the history of the United States. The DoD Women's History Month poster consists of 3 versions, each of which is identical, except for the woman depicted in the poster. The observance recognizing women's contributions was established by Public Law 100-9. This observance runs through the month of March and celebrates the struggles and achievements of women throughout the history of the United States.

Westover to host CPR training Mar. 16
The Westover Fire Department is hosting an Instructor led Red Cross Adult/Pediatric CPR/AED course on Mon., March 16, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The class will be held in the fire department training room. The participant manual, reference material, and agenda is located on the Fire Department SharePoint site and by clicking on the AED Icon. The Fire Department SharePoint site is located at: https://afrc.eim.us.af.mil/sites/439AW/439MSG/439CE/CEF/SitePages/Home.aspx The Class size is limited to twelve (12) participants and there is a minimum requirement of three (3) participants to conduct the class. At the end of each class you will be certified by the American Red Cross to perform the following skills: Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (Adult, Child & Infant) The use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) Foreign Body Airway Obstruction Relief (Choking) (Adult, Child, and Infant) To register, please email Assistant Chief Kerry at scott.kerry@us.af.mil

Navy Seal, Medal of Honor Recipient Edward Byers speaks Mar. 25
Navy Seal and Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Edward Byers, Jr., received the Congressional Medal of Honor from the President of the United States in February 2016, in recognition of his heroic acts of valor, saving a hostage in Afghanistan in 2012. On Wednesday March 25 at 6:30pm, Master Chief Petty Officer Edward Byers, Jr. will be an honored Speaker in the Parish Lenten Speaker Series at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Road in Westfield, Massachusetts (413-562-3450). A Reception will follow in the Parish Center. Music will be provided by the Westfield High School Jazz Band and Chorus. A special invitation is extended to all Veterans Groups, American Legion and Military Representatives from Barnes and Westover.
