Framing a Galaxy

Looming six-story high tails of C-5s on the flight line frame one of Westover's C-5 Galaxy's on final approach to Westover, May 19, 2014. The C-5 has a greater capacity than any other airlifter. It has the ability to carry 36 standard pallets and 81 troops simultaneously. Westover Air Reserve Base

Westover is the nation's largest Air Force Reserve base, and is home to the Air Force's largest cargo aircraft, the C-5 Galaxy. The mission of the 439th Airlift Wing is to provide worldwide air movement of troops, supplies, equipment and medical patients.
