Colonel Michael G. Miller is the 439th Operations Group commander, Westover Air Reserve Base, Mass. As the commander he is responsible for aircrew training, standardization, and operational command and control of 16 C-5B Galaxy aircraft, an operational support squadron, an operational aeromedical evacuation squadron, and an airlift control flight. He was assigned to this position in November 2011.

His experience spans a wide variety of aviation functions and aircraft, and includes both special operations rotary wing and strategic fixed-wing aviation. Additionally, Colonel Miller's experience includes extensive joint operations on a worldwide level as/with Tier One special operations forces, and attended in residence joint PME.

Colonel Miller was commissioned in August 1985 as a ROTC graduate at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. He has served as a special operations UH-1N gunship pilot, MH-53J Pavelow evaluator pilot, chief of group standardization/evaluation division at an Air Education and Training Command formal schoolhouse, special operations MH-60G Pavehawk instructor pilot, graduate of the USAF Weapons school, C-17 JPADS flight-lead evaluator pilot, airlift squadron operations officer, and most recently a graduate of United States Army War College in residence. He is a command pilot with nearly 8,000 flying hours.
