The Top 3 and Rising 6 organizations at Westover Air Reserve Base joined forces this year to collect donations of food and money for Lorraine’s Kitchen in Chicopee. The donations were delivered by nine Westover Airmen on a chilly Dec. 19th morning. “I would like to thank everyone for their generosity, helping to make the 2018 holiday food drive for Lorraine’s Kitchen in Chicopee an extreme success,” said Senior Master Sgt. Zona Sabatino, Top 3 President. “Once again, the men and women of Westover have shown their true altruistic nature by donating 580 lbs. of food and $1,500.” Lorraine’s Kitchen feeds 70 families a day from the local community. “Money that is donated goes a lot further than giving actual food because Lorraine’s Kitchen can purchase 10 lbs. of food for 10 cents,” said Kristin Rivers, Administrative Assistant and Public Relations for Lorraine’s Kitchen. “Although any donation is welcome, especially at this time of year when we need more.” For more information, video and photos go to youtube.com/439westover and facebook.com/439westover
