Westover artist honors space program
WESTOVER AIR RESERVE BASE, Mass. -- Christopher Doyle, an artist from Westover, applies the final touches to his painting of Air Force Maj. Edward H. White II conducting the first extra vehicular activity for the US manned space flight program in June 1965. Mr. Doyle chose this historical event as part of the 60th anniversary of the Air Force. He is also a senior master sergeant with the Air Force Reserve’s 439th Maintenance Squadron at Westover. He attended the anniversary celebration and ribbon-cutting at the Pentagon Oct. 19. Mr. Doyle's painting will be displayed in Washington, D.C. through this next year. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Andrew Biscoe)
